Wagtails wag their tails

like puppies.

Well, up and down, actually,

but it still makes them seem friendly,

like puppies.

And they have a sort of smiling beak

that makes them seem quite cheerful.

You never feel tearful

around a wagtail,

which is also true of puppies

The ones round here

are the grey and white, which is taller,

and the mostly yellow, which is smaller,

and they fly around and run around a lot catching insects,

a little like puppies,

(but not the flying and the insect-eating parts)

Wagtails, like puppies, are a lot of fun!
