IKIGAI FOR LEADERS AND ORGANISATIONS
Yes, it is possible to have a working life that’s enjoyable, meaningful and successful, all at the same time. Everyone has the right to enjoy a fulfilled working life. After all it’s the activity we do most, besides sleeping. So here’s an important question. How do you feel as a leader at the end of an exhausting working day? Was it truly worthwhile, or are you merely one step closer to paying your bills?
Leaders shouldn’t feel like they’re stuck on a meaningless hamster wheel. Their influence on corporate climate and culture is far too important for that. A burnt-out, demotivated leader can’t inspire people and help them thrive and flourish. A leader who’s reached an ikigai state, however, can be a powerful source of inspiration and motivation.
